We'd love to, but can't. I still very much recommend coming to the Alt Party. It's going to be the hottest event of its kind all year. Extremely impressed by how the venue is building.

I think I deserve a ticket
because: wAMMA

(ps. unemployed=either party or food or neither)
(pps. even if I got a job [roflmao] I wouldn't get paid in time to get to the party)
(ppps. party needs more wAMMA or: partyfun < [partyfun=partyfun+1] SYNTAX ERROR)

ROOMIE EATS ALL MY FOOD

A STORY: I had a great digital adventure when I first got my Atari 800XL as a kid and received this huge Basic programming manual. There was this text about registries and stuff which was an example of how to get a colourful banana being drawn into the screen. The example had this capital letter text (translated from FINNISH to ENGLISH here): DRAW A BANANA OUT OF DATA MEANING "YELLOW". and since every code examples in the book were in capital letters I thought this 'code' would actually give me a picture of a banana. It didn't, no matter what I tried so I got frustrated and stopped and started playing Donkey Kong and Ms.Pacman. It was my first programming frustration ever, and it's a dear and a most valued memory these days. I ALMOST CRIED BACK THEN!!1 ;___; DD':
That is why I must get to the party to hang out with ppl who know programming so maybe I'll learn some eventually too so I won't get frustrated cause I can't draw a banana with Basic in 8 words I CAN HAS ONLY SO MANY DEER MEMRIS!

Oh, digital adventures =)) the one and only best adventure that i can think of was the participation in the Ars Electronica. This is the biggest media art festival in Europe, in Linz, Austria. In 2006 we had a campus exhibition there, having works of Media Lab Helsinki presented at the exhibition. Artist passes... free entrance to all the events... networking... parties =) It's been an amazing week and unforgettable experience!
Check out some of the blog entries http://www.aec.at/en/festival2006/blog/index.asp?autor=11. My project is named The EyeSight, and can be found here http://www.aec.at/en/festival2006/blog/index.asp?move=next&mCounter=60.

The weirdest stuff of all the festival was the competition of the sounds in the small corner pub, which somehow fit huge amount of festival people every night. There were these phones that recorded any sound of duration around 10 seconds and kept on repeating it until the new sound was recorded. We had a team of several people participating in the competitions =) it was super funny, laughing till tears on the strange sounds (can't really call it music) that were produced =)) all digital. very digital =)

that's in short about my adventures!
i'd be glad to tell more once i get the VIP invitations for Alternative Party! hopefully =))

Kind regards,
Ksenia

When I was 16, I got interested to console hacking. I was one of the first to translate a great japanese RPG called Chrono Trigger (SNES) almost completely to Finnish. My problems started when it occurred to me that the ROM had serious programming errors in pointers and my software rendered parts of the game to a complete mess. It was around 98% complete and I never got around to add any error detection to my translator.

Frustrated by this (and perhaps because I was 16 and horny) I re-translated the whole game with sexual references everywhere and edited the sprites - especially for the female characters - to include larger boobs and typical DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball Hack style clothing. The new storyline was the kind of 60 hour adventure everyone and I wanted to be part of.

For my misery, my harddrive crashed and all that hard work was lost in the ether, never to be recovered again – expect the original incomplete Finnish translation.

About 10 years ago when I was in secondary school (seventh/eight grade) taking my first steps into the world of software development we started a project with my school mate called doggy land (after snoop dogg). The goal was to make a virtual death star where people could play star wars related games together and communicate with each other. We started modeling star wars crafts for our virtual world and had a fancy homepage for the project which had star wars theme (midi) on the background. We had huge plans. Then we got more interested on girls and partying than role games and computers. Now 10 years later I find my self in a tech startup wondering how cool it would be to do live video streaming in virtual worlds. Taking something from the "real world" to the virtual ones. I guess what goes around, comes around.
