Secret Development Work
To the beat of Public Enemy’s New Whirl Odor I decided to work on something secret to even the guys at Fishpool. Public Enemy’s own NWO does have its highs and its lows, and I half-wish the sound could’ve developed further into completely new directions (I don’t want a new Nation of Millions but surprises), but the rapping is familiarly tight and it is really refreshing to hear something so sweetly politicised amongst all the mush. MKLVFKWR in particular is a wonderful upbeat protest against, well, the world.
And the secret project? Well, I’m not trying to get too optimistic about it, although I am excited. It is something absolutely and totally different. Whether something comes of it is not really in my hands. I hope so. It could be legendary.
